Snail mucin. Technically it's a snail secretion filtrate. This is the protective fluid a snail produces to repair its own skin from scratches and everyday wear. Korean skincare brands have formulated with it for well over a decade and it's become one of the most trusted ingredients in K beauty for a simple reason, IT WORKS. It's naturally rich in the same kinds of compounds: hyaluronic acid, glycolic acid, growth factors, antioxidants.
And no snails are harmed to get it. It's gathered while the snail moves across a surface, similar to how sap is collected from a tree, nothing about the process involves killing or injuring them.
